Hello fellow Rotarians,

This week’s meeting is an assembly and we two very interesting and well done video’s showing some Rotary International efforts that are making a difference.

As I write this I am in Nicaragua on our club’s first international service trip.  It is going quite well.  We had a good meeting with the Leon Rotary Club on Friday afternoon where they presented some good collaborative opportunities, the ones we liked the best involving not only our club and theirs but at least one and in one case two NGO’s and possibly the clubs in Peterborough and Dublin as well.

The highly unlikely outcome of drawing 51 cards from a full deck without picking a winner has put us in an uncharted area.  So you all know how the raffle will work this week, the Board of Directors has decided that we will start a new raffle with a new deck and let the pot roll into it.  It avoids the situation where a weekly winner wins the pot without the need to go through the more improbable requirement of picking the correct card.  It will make our weekly drawing more interesting especially in the early weeks where the pot would be small.

Yours in service,
Rotarian Banghart
