Dear Rotarians,

I was very impressed with the Conant Middle High School Robotics Team last week. The work they do is both amazing and deeply satisfying to see.  They are seeking financial support to help them head to Canada in June to complete with other schools' robotic teams; the Charitable Giving Committee discussed this at the monthly Board Meeting that occurred this morning, and we will update the Club this Thursday at our weekly meeting.

Thanks to Rotarian Mike Shea for organizing a very successful roadside cleanup on Saturday. We made quick work of the trash along with the help of a goodly number of FPU football players, courtesy of Coach Gas.

This week, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will meet on Thursday, April 16th, at 7:15am at Franklin Pierce University. Rotarian Sam Lafortune will introduce our Student of the Month, Roma Webber. Roma is in the eighth grade at Conant Middle High School. We will also use this meeting to update folks on Grill & Chill.  We will have tickets and posters available. Attached to this Bulletin are the invitations for artists and musicians, as well as the event poster. Please forward the invitations to any high-quality artist or music folks that you know.

On April 23rd, Professor Catherine Koning will talk to us about the ecological challenges facing Pearly Pond and discuss how we can help to save our lakes.  On April 30th, our own Rotarian Bill Raymond will present.

Mark your calendar for the Community Supper that we are hosting at the United Church of Jaffrey at 5:30pm on Thursday, April 23rd. Please coordinate with Owen Houghton and Sheila Bergeron to help. In addition, Rindge and Jaffrey are two of the seven towns hosting an Earth Day conference and festival on Saturday, April 25th, from 10am until 4pm at the Cathedral of the Pines. There will be speakers, food, music, and a craft market.

Yours in Service,

Tom
