Hi Fellow Rotarians,

We meet at Franklin Pierce University for our Breakfast Meeting on Thursday morning, April 4th, at 7:15am.  Owen Houghton has the Invocation (yes, Owen's actually scheduled this time).

Those who were at last Thursday's meeting were treated to four Conant Interactors, each of whom gave great presentations as they competed for the opportunity to go to the District semi-finals in Henniker this coming Sunday.  Their presentation topic was the Rotary "Four-Way Test" and its applicability in today's world.  Maria Anton, who happened to be the first of the four presenters, was the winner. Maria, believe it or not, is only a freshmen, as were two of her classmates, Ayden Faircloth and Jennah Haney.   Bailey Brewer, a junior, was the only upperclassman.  Kudos to all for their great presentations -- I was so proud of them.

Bill Driscoll will need to be on his best behavior at our Thursday meeting.  Presenting will be New Hampshire State Police Detective Sergeant Shawn Skahan, who will present his topic of “Tales of A Polygraph Instructor.”  Bill's nefarious deeds of the past MAY just come under scrutiny.  Come and find out!

Next Thursday's presentation at our evening meeting at the Shattuck should be especially interesting, as Henry Knight, Director of the Keene State College's Holocaust and Genocide Studies Program, will present on "A Light in the Darkness -- Dr. Lucja Frei Gottesman."  Although this doctor's name may not be one familiar to you, when I met with Henry, I was absolutely blown away by what it is he will be presenting at our meeting and the impact Dr. Gottesman MIGHT have had... if only she had not been one of millions of Jews killed by the Nazis during World War II.  Be sure not to miss this one!

I will be in Henniker on Sunday, rooting Maria Anton on as she competes with a dozen or so other high school students for the opportunity to go to the "Four-Way Test" District final competition in Danvers on May 4th.

Lastly, a big thanks to Jon, Owen, Bruce, Clay, Sam, Russ (and wife, Justine - nice to meet you!), Andy Lawn, and John McCarthy for stepping up to volunteer to help at the free Community Supper last week (hope I didn't miss anyone) at the United Church of Jaffrey.  It was successful!  Thank YOU!

See you Thursday!

Yours in Service,

bob
