Dear Rotarians,
Thanks to many Rotarians and Interactors who helped volunteer on Thursday at the United Church of Jaffrey to help with the April Community Supper. More than 80 local citizens feasted on turkey, stuffing, potatoes, veggies, etc. Many hands made work light, and by 7:00pm, we were all cleaned up. To those who cooked turkeys or peeled potatoes, much appreciated!
This week the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will meet at Franklin Pierce University at 7:15am on Thursday, April 30th. Our own Bill Raymond will present, and his topic will be "If you are going to make maple syrup, then MAKE maple syrup!”
On May 7th (at Franklin Pierce), we will hear from Robert G. Goodby, Ph.D.. Professor of Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University. He will learn about Native American history and archaeology in the Monadnock Region. NOTE: this is our LAST meeting at the University until the end of August. The next meeting on May 15th will be at the Cathedral of the Pines.
Remember that the Elm City Rotary Club Sneaker distribution will be on Friday, May 8th, starting at the Rindge Memorial School at 9:00am, followed by distribution at the Jaffrey Grade School at 10:15am. Although four Rotarians have volunteered to help out, the more the merrier! Several dozen children at both schools benefit from this program, snd they receive a free pair of sneakers so come out and watch smiling kids as they receive these sneakers at no cost.
Looking ahead, our May 14th meeting will be at the Cathedral of the Pines, and we will hear from Kathryn Downey and her team from NH Hunger Solutions.
On Thursday, May 21st, we will NOT meet in the morning because we will be meeting in the afternoon for golf and meeting that same evening for our first spring social at Andy Lawn's house.
Reminder: the Rotary District 7870 Conference Set is coming up on May 30, 2026. District Governor Donna Deos invites all Rotarians to join her for a dynamic one-day District Conference on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Best Western Hotel in Keene. The District has been planning an energizing program filled with inspiration, fellowship, and hands-on service.
Yours in Service,
Tom

Everyone ate well at our "Thanksgiving in April" Community Supper

Attended by over 80 hungry citizens at Jaffrey's United Church on Main Street this past Thursday, a good time was had by all. We get to to it again (pasta?) in October, as the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club takes a leadership role in the community by sponsoring and hosting two such Community Suppers in 2026.
Rotarians at Work!

That's Jon Frederick (L) and Andy Lawn finishing up with the dish washing, two of over a dozen Rotarians and Interactors who helped to set up, cook, serve, and clean up after all the guests departed. Kudos to Sheila Bergeron for all her work to ensure things went well!
He sings, too!!!

One of President Tom Ahlborn-Hsu's talents is that he loves to sing, and this he did at the Community Supper!
