Dear Rotarians,
The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will meet this Thursday, January 16th, at 7:15am, at the Cathedral of the Pines. Please note that this will be our last meeting at this location before we return to the University. There will be no meeting on January 23rd in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will resume our meetings at Franklin Pierce University on January 30th.
Our special guest speaker for this week's meeting is Michael Lucow, Connection Specialist for the Division for Children, Youth, and Families of New Hampshire. Michael specializes in matching teens in the foster care system with volunteer adult mentors on a one-on-one basis. He will give a brief presentation about this impactful program.
Highlights from Last Week's Meeting:
i. The meeting began with an invocation prayer led by John McCarthy, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the patriotic song, "America the Beautiful."
ii. Announcements included updates on the after-school program, which has been postponed due to lower-than-expected enrollment, as reported by Jon Frederick. Additionally, Owen Houghton provided details about the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, and many members highlighted many other regular club activities.
iii. During the meeting, the nominations for the Board slate for the 2025-2026 term - previously approved by your Board for presentation to the Club - were presented and approved. I proposed the nominations, and Jed Brummer seconded the motion. The following slate was approved unanimously:
Board for 2025-2026:
- President: Tom Hsu
- Immediate Past President: Rudra Aryal
- President-Elect: Donna Senechal
- Vice President: Sam LaFortune
- Secretary: Bob Schaumann
- Treasurer: Bill Coleman
Board of Directors:
- Gail Therriault (Charitable Giving Chair)
- Russell Gaskamp (Membership Chair)
