Dear Rotarians,
This week, on Thursday May 21st, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will NOT meet in the morning because many of us will be playing Golf at 3:00! Please connect with Rotarians Russ Gaskamp or Andy Lawn if you still need to know your team for golf. Immediately after golf, we will have our Spring Social at Andy Lawn's house (137 Ingalls Rd, Jaffrey) at 6:00pm. There will be food, fellowship, live music, and good cheer all around. Spouses welcome!
We will meet again in the morning on Thursday, May 28th, at 7:15am, at the Cathedral of the Pines for our weekly Rotary meeting. Our speaker is Jonathan Gourlay for Monadnock WindowDressers, which is an organization of community volunteers that make low-cost insulating window inserts that function as custom, interior-mounted storm windows. They install these around communities to improve the warmth and comfort of interior spaces, lower heating costs, and reduce pollution associated with burning fossil fuels.
On Thursday, June 4th, we will have a special meeting at Milliken Manor, the venue for our Grill and Chill fundraiser in July. Owners Kristen and Dave Delano will show us around and describe their vision for this stunning property and their journey that led them to be its new proprietors last year. The meeting will be at 7:15am. I suggest dressing warm as the Barn where we will be meeting is unheated.
Sell those sponsorships and tickets! July will be here before we know it, and we cannot keep up our good works if we don't have a successful fundraiser. We have great bands coming - including Sheep Dip, a local favorite for more than a decade. We also have a dozen artists and artisans already committed and excited about the event. Your committee is planning a fantastic menu of kebabs and other BBQ fare. The site is extraordinary. We need all hands to make this a success!
Again, a reminder that the Rotary District 7870 Conference is coming up on Saturday, May 30th. District Governor Donna Deos invites all Rotarians to join her for a dynamic one-day District Conference at the Best Western Hotel in Keene, for an energizing program filled with inspiration, fellowship, and hands-on service.
Yours in Service,
Tom
