Dear Rotarians,

This week, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will meet at Franklin Pierce University at 7:15am on Thursday, May 7th, to hear from Robert G. Goodby, Ph.D. Professor of Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University, whose presentation will be on "Native American History and Archaeology in the Monadnock Region."

NOTE: this is our LAST meeting at Franklin Pierce until classes begin in late August. The next meeting will be at the Cathedral of the Pines on May 14th. We will hear from Kathryn Downey and her team at NH Hunger Solutions.

On Thursday, May 21st, we will NOT meet in the morning because we will be meeting in the afternoon for golf and in the evening for our first spring social at Andy Lawn's house.

Remember that the Elm City Rotary Club Sneaker distribution will be this Friday, May 8th, starting at the Rindge Memorial School at 9:00am, followed by distribution at the Jaffrey Grade School at 10:15am.  Several dozen children at both schools benefit from this program and they receive a free pair of sneakers, so come out and watch smiling kids as they receive these sneakers at no cost.

A reminder that the Rotary District Conference Set is coming up on May 30, 2026. District Governor Donna Deos invites all Rotarians to join her for a dynamic one-day District Conference on Saturday, May 30th, at the Best Western Hotel in Keene. Rotarians need to register for this conference via the Rotary District 7870 website at at a cost of $60.  To register, go to https://rotary7870.org/events/district-7870-conference-2026/.  The District team is planning an energizing program filled with inspiration, fellowship, and hands-on service.

Yours in Service,

Tom
