Dear Rotarians,
We will have an evening social this Thursday, November 13th, at the home of our gracious former president, Rudra Aryal. The address is 15 Windy Fields Lane, Jaffrey. The event will start around 5:30 pm. This will be a pot luck event, so please bring a dish to share! Rudra will prepare some traditional Napali rice dishes as well. The social will be in lieu of a breakfast meeting that same morning, as we will NOT meet at Franklin Pierce University this week.
Our last meeting in November will be at 7:15am on Thursday, November 20th, at Franklin Pierce University. Our speaker is Debra LeClair, an author who lives in Jaffrey. Her website is https://debraanneleclair.com/. Debra moved to Jaffrey two years ago, and she will share her writing experiences and provide a brief overview of her book.
We will also recognize Luke Ludlam, a Fifth Grader at the Rindge Memorial School, as our November Rotary Student of the Month.
Several Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians attended the induction ceremony for new Conant Middle High School Interact Club members on Thursday, November 6th. It is extraordinary that we have such engaged and enthusiastic young people, and 12 new members were inducted at the Cathedral of the Pines, site of the event.

Then, on Saturday evening, several Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians (Rudra Aryal, Jed Brummer, Owen Houghton, Bob Schaumann, and myself) enjoyed themselves at the Grand Monadnock Rotary 100th Anniversary Celebration at the Peterborough Country Club. The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club was sponsored by what was then the Peterborough Rotary Club in February 2003. The Peterborough Rotary and the Monadnock Rotary merged a few years ago and are now known as the Grand Monadnock Rotary Club. A good time was had by all!
There will be a Community Supper hosted by our Troop 33 Scouts on Thursday December 4th, at the United Church of Jaffrey, and also the Scouts traditional Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, November 15th, from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at the Jaffrey American Legion Hall.
Lastly, as Tuesday is Veterans Day, we wish to recognize ALL Rotarians who have served in our armed forces, both in peace and in time of war. Thank you!
Yours in Service,
Tom
