Dear Rotarians,
The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will not meet this week, October 30th, due to Halloween. I was under the impression that this was the usual practice, and I apologize if I deleted a meeting that is normally held.
Our next regular meeting will be Thursday, November 6th, at Franklin Pierce University. Amy Reagle Meyers will present on the topic of "Professional Etiquette." Amy is currently the Chair of the Jaffrey Planning Board and is a board member of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
Please note: We have an evening social on our calendar for Thursday, November 13th. I am open for ideas, and possibly hosts for this event! My home is under construction and not really amenable to hosting until spring. If you would like to host an event, please let me know! OR... we could meet at a suitable venue for dinner, such as the Tap Room at the Shattuck, or the back room at Emma's 321. We would have to pay for the food, of course, but both places would be fun.
In terms of community events, there are two that are upcoming, both on Thursday, October 30th. First is a community supper at the United Church of Jaffrey at 5:30 pm. This "Farewell to Summer" event is hosted by the Town of Jaffrey and will include hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill - rain or shine!
Right after the Community Supper, the League of Women Voters is hosting our representatives in a Listening Session focusing on school funding. All are invited to this free event. Representatives John Hunt, Rita Matson, Jim Qualey, and Dick Ames have indicated they will attend and speak, as well as NH State Senator Donovan Fenton. The event is at the Jaffrey Woman's Club at 33 Main St, Jaffrey.
