Hi Fellow Rotarians,
Our next meeting of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will be held at Franklin Pierce University on Thursday, May 9th, at 7:15am. This will be our last meeting at the University until early September, at which time the new University school year begins.
Our speakers this week will be students from our Conant Interact club, accompanied by several of their advisors. They will be speaking to us about their recent service trip to the Dominican Republic.
Starting on May 16, we will meet at the Cathedral of the Pines until the first week of September, as a placeholder, while we determine how to handle our breakfast situation.
Thanks to Rotarian Richard Feldman, our speaker on May 16th will be Chris McLaughlin, the Cheshire County Attorney. This should be an interesting and informative talk for all of us.
I have included three pictures from the highly successful sneaker drive, one in which second grade students from Rindge and Jaffrey elementary schools received their new sneakers.
Looking ahead, the Board of Directors will meet at the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce office on Wednesday, May 8th, at 8:00am. The Club will be meeting on May 9th, 16th, and 23rd, and the Club will not meet on May 30th because of Memorial Day Week.
The following events are in the upcoming Rotary pipe line:
- The Golf event/dinner is on Wednesday, 5/15/2024. See Gas for tickets/details.
- Don Upton has purchased 30 Peterborough Players tickets for the famous musical, "The Man of La Mancha," with a social event beforehand on Thursday, August 22nd, at 5:30pm. Tickets have been discounted to $48.00. Send your checks to Don Upton.
- Gavel Night will be June 27th and will be held at the Cathedral of the Pines.
Yours in Service,
Bill and John
Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians joined Keene Elm City Rotarians on Wednesday, May 1st, to give out 100 pairs of sneakers.
The Second Graders at both the Jaffrey Grade School and the Rindge Memorial School were thrilled!
