The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will meet Thursday morning, September 24th, at 7:15am, at Franklin Pierce University. Owen Houghton has the Invocations for Thursday's meeting.
Our guest speaker this week will be Matt Simon, Director of Public and Government Relations for GraniteLeaf Cannabis.
Last week was a privilege to hear from our Nepalese colleagues and engage in dialogue regarding the recent disaster. After our meeting on Thursday morning, the Board met briefly to discuss ways in which this Rotary Club could help. Be on the lookout for email communication with more information.
If anyone is interested in the District 7870 Golf Tournament this year, it will be held at the Newport Country Club at 112 Unity Road Newport, NH, on September 28th. If more information is needed, please reach out to me.
Reminder: the Jaffrey Fall Fest (originally, Scarecrows on the Common) will be held on October 10th from 12:00 Noon to 4:00pm. We will need some volunteers to help with the hay and to keep things together. It would be nice to have three Rotarians from 12:00 Noon to 2:00pm and similar Rotary representation from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Please let me know if you are able to help during any of these times.
in June 2026, we had a speaker, Jonathan Gourlay, from Window Dressers (Insulating Window Inserts), come to share with us the advantage of energy-saving window inserts. They were hoping we might have some Rotarians volunteer to help with the building of the inserts. This will take place October 15th to 22nd at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Main St., in Peterborough. This link is where you can see what is happening each day and what time slots are available. This might be a great way to also get the Interact Club involved with some of the projects.
Please collect the Welcome Back School signs you posted and return them to the next Rotary meeting.
Our next meeting on October 1st will again be at the University at 7:15am. We will first welcome and Congratulate the Student of the month. Our speaker will be Claudia Stewart, a Rindge resident and Cheshire County Commissioner. She will share how organizations such as Rotary can benefit and apply for Grants.

The President, Past President, and others from this Rotary Club joined us via Zoom from Nepal to update us on the tragic flood that recently occurred. Thank to Rudra Aryal for making the connection and hosting the Zoom that allowed these Nepalese Rotarians to join us during our September 17th breakfast meeting. "Namaste!"
